Production Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. This permanent role is responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain)
  • Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment
  • Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries
  • Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback
  • Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority
  • Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost-effective, best practice technological methods which enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • An experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi-functional engineering competence
  • Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable)
  • Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement - OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen
  • Solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable)
  • Ability to problem-solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa
