Property Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Property Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Active Personnel Recruitment LTD. As a Property Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance and repair work to ensure properties are functional and safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake maintenance and repair work, including reactive, void, and planned tasks.
  • Work independently and take initiative within set procedures.
  • Maximize first-time fixes to minimize revisits.
  • Collaborate with Helpdesk co-ordinators and utilize workforce management software/app for efficient scheduling.
  • Deliver high-quality maintenance experiences for customers.
  • Represent the company professionally and courteously to customers.
  • Provide detailed reports from site, using mobile software tools, with evidence of job completion.
  • Liaise with customers to explain follow-on work requirements and timeframes.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, with flexibility to collaborate with team members on larger projects.
  • Confidence in dealing with vulnerable or special needs tenants, with patience, flexibility, and courtesy.
  • Familiarity with Safeguarding requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of property maintenance, including reactive, planned, and emergency work.
  • Ability to undertake basic carpentry, minor electrical, and plumbing repairs, and general maintenance work.
  • Ability to take verbal instruction and direction, and follow written instructions with accurate record-keeping.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety and use of PPE.
  • Ability to use a smartphone to accept jobs and upload reports and photos using our Scheduling app.

Benefits:

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week, including travel time, with opportunities for overtime.
  • Use of company van, fuel card, some uniform items, pension, in-house and product training, and growth opportunities within the company.
  • Use of smartphone for job cards, uploading photos, and job reports using our Scheduling app.
  • Willingness to travel to sites for emergency repair works, during normal working hours, and opportunities for out-of-hours emergency works.
