As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring environmental excellence on our clients' sites across the South West. We are seeking a passionate and driven Construction Environmental Advisor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of works with Construction Code of Practice and other environmental requirements
  • Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS) documentation and systems
  • Develop environmental works solutions, mitigation, and monitoring regimes
  • Roll out systems to ensure construction methodologies and programmes meet Environmental Minimum Requirements
  • Manage Environmental Opportunities and Risks, updating the register and progressing selected opportunity actions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and client representatives to ensure collaborative working relationships
  • Understand the financial implications of decisions affecting environmental issues and seek to ensure the best financial outcome for the business
  • Promote environmental awareness on the project through training, briefings, poster campaigns, and other communication methods
  • Report on the site's environmental performance against the project's objectives and targets
  • Manage and oversee monitoring equipment, collect, process, and interpret data (e.g. water, dust, noise, waste)
  • Manage onsite Environmental Site inspections

Requirements:

  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and principles of environmental management systems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills

Person Specific:

  • On-site experience within the Construction Industry
  • A formal environmental qualification
  • Other formal Health, Safety, or Environmental, training or auditing qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
  • A full driving licence
  • Good communication, self-motivation, and ambition to succeed
  • Willingness to take ownership of workload
