The Opportunity
We are seeking an inspirational educator to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester.

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost attainment levels. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher with a background in special education or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way.

The tuition replaces school for these young people and is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week. You will work closely with Prospero Teaching to monitor the progression of each pupil by submitting weekly reports.

Job Details:

  5. Contract type: Temporary
  6. Full-time/part-time: Part-time (a minimum of 10 hours per week, per student)
  7. Minimum rate of pay: GBP25 per hour (negotiable)

About You:
You must hold QTS or equivalent, possess UK classroom teaching experience and PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential. You should be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box, with experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils.

To be eligible for this role, you must hold the right to work in the UK, an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application, and provide two professional child-related references.
