Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our farm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of all resources, including land, crops, equipment, and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Plan and coordinate farming activities, including drilling, spraying, harvesting, and crop rotation, while working closely with the stockman.
  • Crop Management: Develop and implement crop management strategies to optimize yield and quality.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the maintenance and proper use of all farm assets, including buildings, vehicles, and machinery.
  • Harvesting Operations: Coordinate and supervise all harvesting activities to ensure timely and efficient crop collection.
  • Equipment and Machinery: Oversee the operation and maintenance of farm equipment and machinery, highlighting safety protocols related to farm machinery.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, buyers, and contractors.
  • Personnel Management: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Farm Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a farm manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and modern farming techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with agricultural software and technology.
  • Full Driving licence.
