**Job Summary:**

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have significant learning difficulties, providing individualized support and promoting their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social skills and encouraging independent learning.
  • Support the delivery of in-class activities, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met, and work closely with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS, or Therapists as needed.
  • Assist in engaging lessons, including outdoor education and creative learning, and support young people's social interaction.
  • Develop self-esteem, confidence, and emotional wellbeing resilience in students, ensuring regular attendance in school and active participation in learning and social opportunities.

**Requirements:**

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
