We are seeking a resilient and enthusiastic SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEMH setting in Sunderland. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students overcome challenges and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the RoleYour responsibilities will include guiding students to identify areas requiring improvement, providing emotional, physical, and social support to pupils, preparing learning spaces, creating resources tailored to the needs of the pupils, and supervising activities.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Progress: Help students set goals and track their progress.
- Provide Support: Assist students with emotional, social, and academic development.
- Prepare Learning Spaces: Set up and tidy classrooms before and after lessons.
- Create Resources: Develop materials that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Supervise Activities: Organize and oversee projects and sports sessions.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to create positive relationships with students, active listening skills, a nurturing attitude, and a sound understanding of lesson content.
