We are seeking a skilled Credit and Collections Analyst to join our team at Oceaneering, a global provider of engineered services and products to the offshore energy industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for reducing risk through effective and proactive credit management, providing recommendations for customer credit limit reviews, and contacting customers to achieve timely payments.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with functional managers, project managers, and key sales and account managers to accelerate the collection process and build strong internal and external business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Reduce risk through effective and proactive credit management
* Provide recommendations for customer credit limit reviews and sales reserve/bad debt provisions
* Contact customers via phone, email, or other approved means to achieve timely payments
* Prepare statements of account
* Enlist support and work closely with all functional managers, project managers, and key sales and account managers to accelerate the collection process
* Provide high-level customer service regarding credit and collection issues
* Escalate trends of delinquent accounts to immediate supervisor and as defined in Company policy
* Identify, reduce, and/or escalate issues contributing to account delinquency
* Assist with preparation of information pertaining to customer liquidation and bankruptcies
* Support projects and initiatives utilizing technology to continuously improve and automate our collections process globally
* Work closely with the Billing team on invoicing queries and unbilled revenue to ensure timely billing
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent industry experience
* Minimum 5 to 7 years of collections, billing, or related accounting background
* Strong reporting, research, analysis, communications, and organizational skills as well as self-starting ability
* Familiarity with contracts and laws relating to collections
* Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office, database, and ERP software
