About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of ecologists in various aspects of ecological consultancy practice. This will involve working closely with other team members across the UK and potentially requiring short-term travel across the country.

About You

We are seeking an experienced ecologist with a strong background in ecological surveying, including terrestrial ecology, botany, ornithology, or other specialisms. The ideal candidate will have a good theoretical grounding in ecology and environmental assessment, as well as experience in project management duties, including planning and scheduling surveys, budget management, and client liaison.

Requirements

  • BSc Ecology, Biological Science, or equivalent (MSc desirable) and eligible for Qualifying or Associate level CIEEM membership
  • Good theoretical grounding in ecology and environmental assessment
  • Experience in ecological survey techniques, including botanical skills and experience of habitat surveys
  • Protected/notable species survey experience relevant to Scotland
  • Ornithological, botanical, terrestrial, or freshwater fauna surveys
