The Role

As an Education Welfare Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring students attend regularly, engage fully, and succeed in their educational journey. This involves working collaboratively with families, external agencies, and school staff to identify barriers to attendance and provide effective support and intervention.

  • Establish strong relationships with families to promote positive engagement with the school.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as social services and healthcare professionals, to support students and families.
  • Offer guidance on improving attendance and overcoming barriers to education.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the Senior Leadership Team to develop strategies for student well-being and engagement.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about education and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Experienced in working with children or young people, particularly in an SEN or welfare capacity (desirable but not essential).
  • Aware of safeguarding and child protection principles, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.

Our estimated salary for this role is £35,000-£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
