">About the Role:

Sensity CA is seeking a skilled Communication Support Specialist to support individuals with dual sensory impairment in London, ON.

">Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide personalized communication and daily living support to our clients, empowering them to live independently. Key activities include:

  • Supporting clients in their homes and community environments
  • Empowering clients to participate and succeed in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and house cleaning
  • Providing personal care as required, such as lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration
  • Assisting with developing and supporting client goals and objectives
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE)
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract
Training and Development:

We offer comprehensive training to ensure your success in this role. This position requires repetitive hand motion, good manual dexterity, and moderate stooping, bending, and lifting.
