About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Psychiatrist in Geriatric Medicine to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our Older Person's Community Mental Health Team, you will be responsible for providing medical input and assessment and treatment services for people over the age of 65.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, appraise, and provide professional supervision to junior medical staff.
  • Ensure junior medical staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care.
  • Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, submitting reports to the necessary department.
  • Participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and mental health service.
  • Attend and participate in the academic program of the Health Board, including lectures and seminars.
  • Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and abide by professional codes of conduct.

Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT.
  • Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
