SEMHA Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMHA teaching assistant to join our team at a special school in St Leonards-On-Sea. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in planning, preparing and delivering lessons to students with SEMH needs
  • Support students in small groups or one-to-one sessions to promote social, emotional and academic development
  • Contribute to the assessment and feedback of students' work to inform teaching and learning
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, including behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in schools or with young people
  • At least a NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience in education or childcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes
Working Hours and Pay:

08:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, with a day pay rate of £90-£95.
