Job Overview

Bluegate Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new products and maintaining/upgrading existing ones. This role involves managing design projects from conception to volume manufacture, ensuring technical, cost, and product brief requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Produce practical, robust, and cost-effective electronic designs with appropriate documentation
Schematic, PCB layout, mechanical, and software design for the product
Specification of microcontroller for embedded systems and programming in C
Ensure full test and validation of the design to specification before release for manufacture
Test and report for compliance to the relevant standards
Create a production test solution
Lead DFM and support NPI
Work with Purchasing and suppliers to use the most appropriate cost-effective technology
Aid junior engineers to develop their skills
Engineering support for other parts of the business as required

Requirements

Educated to degree level in electronics
Experience in design for manufacturing environment
Experience of analogue and digital circuits and PCB layout
Programming in C for embedded design (Ideally STM32)
Programming in Python to facilitate testing solutions
Practical experience of hand building & debugging prototype circuits
Knowledge of the following would be desirable: Programming VB/VBA, LEDs for lighting applications, Lighting controls and sensors, SMPS, Battery charging, EMC
