Families and Systemic Therapist Collaboration

A Systemic Family Therapist is needed to work collaboratively with young people and their families in a private clinic in Crawley.

The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on young people with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, learning difficulties and/or developmental problems.

Main Tasks:

  • To provide expert systemic interventions for families of young people with mental health needs and developmental difficulties.
  • To conduct thorough risk-assessments and formulate short-term and long-term crisis planning for young people at risk.
  • To manage a complex caseload as a family therapist within a multidisciplinary team and facilitate groups such as carer support groups.
  • To monitor clinical progress through regular reviews of systemic treatment.
  • To engage and work with young people with a range of mental health needs and developmental difficulties.
  • To support staff development through training, consultation, formulation meetings and reflective practice sessions.
  • To contribute to service developments within the Therapies Team and wider service.

Essential Requirements:

  • A Qualifying course in Systemic Psychotherapy at Master's or doctorate level, accredited by the AFT.
  • A formal Family Therapist qualification is essential.
  • Registration with UKCP is required.
  • Experience working with adolescents and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, high-risk behaviours and neurodevelopmental conditions in a CAMHS setting.

We offer an annual salary of up to £51,000 along with 33 days annual leave, free meals and parking, wellbeing support and career development opportunities.
