We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Careers Guidance Professional to join our team at South Hampshire College Group. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality careers and educational guidance services to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating Careers Services: Provide effective coordination across all college sites for the delivery of a high-quality careers and educational guidance service to individuals and groups of students.
- Promoting Careers Services: Actively promote the availability and accessibility of the careers and education guidance service to students.
- Record Keeping and Statistics: Maintain accurate students' records and provide statistical information on the usage of the service.
- Partnerships and Collaborations: Develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships to ensure students receive accurate and up-to-date advice, information, and guidance.
- Representing the College: Attend external boards and meetings with stakeholders to represent the college and inform on careers.
- Event Planning and Delivery: Lead on planning and running of careers and employability-related events within designated campuses.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with curriculum, apprenticeship, and enrichment teams to support an effective careers service internally.
- Student Feedback and Development: Seek feedback from students on relevant activities and events and ensure this is used in the development of future provision.
- Progression and UCAS Support: Lead on the organisation, administration, delivery, development, and quality assurance of progression and UCAS.
- UCAS Monitoring and Quality Assurance: Monitor and collate UCAS applications and references to ensure quality assurance.
- Experience and Qualifications: Experience of working with students in post-16 education or a similar environment as an Educational Careers Guidance Adviser. Hold a Career Guidance and Development Qualification, L6 or equivalent, and educated to degree level (preferable).
- Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills. Ability to co-ordinate and motivate staff. Collaborative and enthusiastic team player. Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and promote a good atmosphere in the department. Reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness, demonstrating the highest professional standards. Commitment to equality and diversity, customer service, and quality assurance. Ability to work flexibly and travel regularly and independently across the SHCG sites.
