About the Role
The Hardware Design Engineer Position is a permanent opportunity with Matchtech, involving various aspects of systems engineering. Key responsibilities include general hardware engineering activities, serving as the primary point of contact with customers and suppliers, and making engineering decisions. The role requires maintaining a high level of expertise through continuous development. An ideal candidate will have experience in hardware design and interconnectivity, as well as competence in using relevant tools. Additionally, they should be able to design and build electrical and hardware systems effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

* Participate in hardware engineering activities including helpdesk support, ship support visits, hardware delivery and installation, design activities, integration, and verification & validation
* Resolve complex problems and maintain awareness of priorities and objectives while working with customers and suppliers
* Make informed engineering decisions based on assigned responsibilities and delegated authority
* Maintain a high level of expertise through personal and professional development
* Produce technical reports, plans, and present information to management and peers
* Deliver tasks within budget and to agreed timescales

Requirements:

Essential:

* Experience in hardware engineering activities including helpdesk support, ship support visits, hardware delivery and installation, design activities, integration, and verification & validation
* Ability to handle complex hardware design and interconnectivity issues
* Competence in using hardware engineering tools
* Effective design and building of electrical and hardware systems

Desirable:

* Good understanding of the engineering lifecycle
* Knowledge and experience in COTS hardware, preferably with blade and PC technology, and experience with COTS cabinets

Salary and Benefits:
