Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at SCHLOSS Roxburghe. As a key member of our Food and Beverage Operations, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and leading our bar team to achieve the highest service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional guest service and ensure a consistent luxury experience.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate the bar team to exceed in their roles.
  • Manage all bar activities within the hotel's restaurant, Charlies, under the guidance of the F&B Ops Manager.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance quality standards regarding beverage, set up, presentation, and atmosphere.
  • Assist the F&B Ops Manager in the recruitment and onboarding process for the team.
  • Oversee and assist the F&B Ops Manager in the daily operations of the State Room Lounge.
  • Manage guest recovery situations promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee scheduling, time keeping, and attendance for the department.
  • Oversee cash handling and cash up procedures, ensuring any queries are rectified with accounts in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the careful handling of complaints and accidents, ensuring first aid training is up to date.
  • Support with training and implementation of HACCP, COSHH, and fire procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of 2+ years of management within a quality bar, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
  • A strong spirit and mixology knowledge.
  • Previous high-volume experience is essential, with knowledge of how to turn tables and manage large groups of reservations in a short period of time to maximise total covers in a day, while taking the most revenue possible without losing the focus on service standards.
