About the Role

The Hospital Director will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the hospital, ensuring that it operates within budget and meets its performance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Hospital's Senior Management Team (SMT) and take ownership for cost control, budgeting, and ensuring regularity requirements are satisfied.
  • Be the Registered Manager, responsible for the delivery of day-to-day services in line with legal requirements.
  • Ensure the service performs to agreed targets for business planning, financial performance, and care and quality standards.
  • Lead and develop a culture where the very highest of standards are consistently delivered and promote and lead on improvements and innovation in the delivery of the hospital's services.
  • Chair the monthly Clinical Governance Meetings and quarterly Medical Advisory Committee meetings with the support of the Medical Director.
  • Work closely with the HR function at site to establish and direct a recruitment and retention plan in order to meet future staffing needs and manage turnover and agency spend.
  • Promote staff engagement at site.
Requirements

Candidates will have extensive experience working at a senior level, preferably within a similar setting with operational and financial planning experience.

Additionally, candidates will be expected to have experience of commercial accountability with regards to cost control and financial performance.

Extensive managerial and leadership experience is essential, with a thorough understanding of developing services for healthcare and a strong record of accomplishment and innovation.
