About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate SEN Primary Teacher to join our educational team at Brookthorpe Hall School, part of Options Autism. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding curriculum, motivating pupils, and achieving positive outcomes for our young people.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs, including autistic spectrum disorder and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver fun and educational learning experiences tailored to each pupil's needs
  • Lead the teaching of and coordinate flexible, person-centred programmes of study for individuals and groups of pupils
  • Prepare, plan, and assess teaching sessions while maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments
  • Build relationships with all young people, encouraging their interest and participation in their education
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings

Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have a background of teaching a range of subjects at Primary Level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
  • Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practice, process, and curriculum
  • Experience in or interest in working within an SEN setting, supporting pupils with challenging behaviour (SEMH/ASD)
