About the Role:

The Gleeson Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Management Accountant to support the Finance Manager in leading a forward-thinking and dynamic financial team. This role is based in Birmingham and offers hybrid working – 1 day in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop financial reporting and analysis processes to provide valuable insights to management.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L and Balance sheet.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner/Operations on large commercial contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Work with Operations to drive business performance and achieve organisational goals.

Requirements:

  • Essential – Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with up-to-date working experience of best practice methodology.
  • Proven experience in either management accounts or audit.
  • Experience of successfully undertaking complex financial analysis and modelling.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.

The ideal candidate will be immediately available or able to start within 1 month. Commutability from Birmingham is essential.
