Behaviour Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join our Education Support Team at a progressive secondary school in Northallerton. The school is currently undergoing a transformation, led by a forward-thinking headteacher who is committed to enhancing the educational experience for all students.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, working closely with classroom teachers to implement effective behavior management strategies and individualized support plans tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement.
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH and SEN, assisting them in managing their behavior and emotional challenges.
  • Engage with students in various settings, supporting their social and emotional development.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that allows all students to thrive.

Character Specification:

  • Essential experience in SEMH, SEN, or behaviour management.
  • Background experience in children's homes, alternative education provisions, or similar environments is highly desirable.
  • A strong desire to make a difference in the lives of young people from diverse backgrounds with a range of needs.
  • Graduates in Psychology, Education, Health and Social Care, or qualified in related fields are encouraged to apply.
