Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at a global brand leader based in Cambridge. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in advising the business on a wide range of contracting issues, including procurement, research partnerships, and business development/marketing arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contracting and Commercial Law: Advise the business on a full range of contracting issues, including procurement, research partnerships, and business development/marketing arrangements.
- Contract Review and Drafting: Review and draft general commercial contracts and other documents, including NDAs, master service agreements, master procurement agreements, terms and conditions, SOWs, research and development contracts, consulting agreements, technical testing agreements, and general procurement contracts.
- Statutory Compliance: Support the business with key areas of statutory compliance, including anti-bribery, modern slavery, data protection, and export control.
- Compliance Training: Conduct training sessions on compliance issues and other key areas for the business, tailored to specific business and HR requirements.
- Special Projects: Support special acquisitions/strategic projects and certain corporate-related matters.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and overseeing the implementation of legal policies and support for compliance initiatives across all research centres in the UK.
- Regional Support: Work as part of the European legal team to identify and support issues of regional importance.
Requirements:
- UK qualified solicitor or barrister with 2+ PQE.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial law/contracts and related areas of statutory compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy issues.
- Technical background or interest preferred, but not essential.
