As a Senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to women across the region. With a focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based services, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and standardize pathways of care. Your expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and patients with diabetes will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

About the Role

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team dedicated to providing exceptional maternal healthcare. As a Consultant in Women's Health, you will be responsible for leading the management of our maternal population with or at risk of developing diabetes during pregnancy. You will also have the opportunity to further improve our pre-existing multidisciplinary clinics working closely with other consultants.

  • Develop and lead the obstetric service, working closely with colleagues to standardize pathways of care
  • Provide training for resident doctors in obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Evolve and write pathways for patients seen within the obstetric service, in line with trust governance policies
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide senior leadership in general obstetric services at Basildon Hospital and MSE

The successful candidate will have a CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and ATSMs in advanced labour ward management, high-risk obstetric medicine, and maternal medicine. They will also have experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist status.

A competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum (pro rata for part-time) reflects the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care. In addition, we offer flexible working opportunities and access to appropriate training to support your career development.
