About Us
Little Gems Country Dining is a small, intimate group of four pubs that pride ourselves on doing the simple things really well and keeping our focus on the staff and guests. We are a #dogfriendlypub, welcoming all, including your beloved pooch Our pubs feature stylish but cozy dining rooms, relaxed and informal bar areas with roaring log fires, and lovely gardens and terraces overlooking the village church.
Our Menu
Our menus change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce available. Everything is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutney.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly self-motivated Chef de Partie who is committed to delivering exceptional standards of food, cleanliness, and hygiene. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene within the kitchen areas
- Training and coaching junior kitchen staff on food storage, rotation, and disposal
- Contributing to menu development
- Preparing fresh foods to an exemplary standard on a daily basis
- Managing food margins through portion control and raw ingredient management
- Stocking shelves and ensuring stock is stored at the correct temperature and rotated correctly
- Following health and safety directives in food preparation
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a professional kitchen environment
- A passion for fresh food
- A methodical, calm, and organized approach to work under pressure
- Precise planning and organization ability
- Ability to give and receive fair feedback
