We are seeking an experienced Senior Actuarial Technician to join our Retirement Solutions Balance Sheet team as a key member of the Open Actuarial Reporting and Change team.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the production of regular Profit & Loss statements focusing on recently acquired Bulk Purchase Annuity business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a key role in the regular production of these figures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Hand over results to review actuaries for interpretation and support with movement analysis.
  • Assist in preparing output for senior leadership within Retirement Solutions.

The role will evolve and adapt to the requirements of the business, and you will look to make improvements and refinements to regular BaU processes that improve outputs and increase efficiencies.

Requirements
  • Demonstrate some understanding of actuarial processes and ideally some actuarial modelling experience.
  • Understand the importance of following processes but also apply knowledge and own thinking to analyse and make improvements.
  • Enjoy communicating clearly and effectively ideas, information, plans, and opinions to internal stakeholders.
  • Apply checking, reporting, and auditing principles to monitor systems and services, identifying risks.
  • Evaluate the ability to ensure figures are produced with full Governance in place and account for internal and external standards.

Location

This role could be based in either our Wythall or Edinburgh offices, with time spent working in the office and at home. We offer flexible working arrangements, including part-time, job-share, and other types of flexibility.
