About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who are facing challenges in their daily lives. As an Aspiring Outreach Worker, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and associated social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

You will be responsible for identifying the risks and needs of students, escalating where necessary, and providing a vital service within the community. Your role will involve working with students who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, and you will be instrumental in providing consistency and equipping them with tools to feel safe, secure, empowered, and confident in their ability to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with vulnerable and at-risk young people to identify their risks and needs
  • Provide support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialist staff to develop and implement support plans
  • Identify and escalate risks and concerns to relevant authorities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively, and have a passion for helping children and young people achieve their full potential. You will also need to be able to build confidence and motivation in students, remain calm and resilient in challenging situations, and be a good listener.

We are looking for individuals who are motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work. If you have a Psychology, Sociology, or Criminology degree, this role will provide you with excellent practical experience working with vulnerable students. Also suitable for aspiring Probation Officers, Prison Officers, and Youth Justice Workers.

What We Offer

We offer excellent on-site training, support, and CPD to ensure the safeguarding of all students. You will also receive a competitive daily rate of £80-£90, paid term-time only. No previous experience is required, and we welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people.
