About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Nutrition Team as a Specialist Health Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing expert care to patients requiring artificial nutrition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing expertise and knowledge to support the daily coordination of the Artificial Nutrition Support Team (ANST)
  • Deliver specialist nursing skills within complex patient pathways, promoting best practice and identifying training needs for healthcare professionals and carers
  • Maintain and assist in the development of the nutrition service for patients requiring artificial enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Work closely with the CNS of the Nutrition Service and deputies in their absence
  • Identify educational needs of staff and plan and provide a continuing educational programme on artificial support for staff involved in care of patients throughout the Trust

Requirements
  • Registered nurse with 1 year post-registration experience with acute surgical or medical nursing experience
  • Standard setting
  • Maintain and develop own specialist skills
  • Experience of working in an MDT
  • Experience of working with people with complex health needs
  • Applicant knowledge is up to date and is fit to practise safely
  • Commitment for managing own professional development
  • Experience of managing change
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree or working towards
  • Experience of policy development
  • Clinical governance / audit experience
