Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis at a Primary School in the Burnley area. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to support the learning and development of our children across Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working one-to-one with children who require additional support.
  • Providing pastoral care to children who need extra help.
  • Contributing to the creation of a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Assisting with the assessment of pupils' progress and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs.
  • Flexible to work across different year groups.
  • Assisting with lunchtime duties.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and a right to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of phonics and early years learning.
  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs.
  • Experience using ICT to support learning.
