Job Title: Midday Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Midday Assistant. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and safety of our pupils during lunchtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide general pastoral support, guidance, and routine advice to pupils.
  • Lead games and activities to promote social interaction and physical activity.
  • Apply emergency procedures, such as fire safety protocols.
  • Supervise children in designated areas during bad weather.
  • Take reasonable precautions to preserve pupils' health and safety.
Requirements:
  • Completed a common core programme of induction for working with children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to participate in the Academy's Appraisal process and engage in continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge of effective strategies to manage behaviour linked to SEND or behavioural/emotional needs of children.
  • Ability to be vigilant and pay attention to detail in order to uphold Safeguarding procedures and policies.

  • Caring, kind, and sensitive to the needs of children.
  • Positive, forward-thinking, and optimistic about child development.
  • Ability to set a good example and provide a positive role model to the children.
