About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with learning difficulties/disabilities in mainstream classes, small groups, and 1-1 settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Motivate and encourage students to engage in their learning, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement, working closely with teachers and other staff.
  • Support students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties) and other learning difficulties, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of SEND and experience working with children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, including Maths and English GCSE graded 4 (or equivalent).
  • The ability to motivate and encourage students, with great communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks.
