Accounts Assistant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, assisting with managed accounts, and providing support to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Set up new client accounts and manage existing ones.
  • Monitor and manage the sales admin inbox to ensure timely responses.
  • Support Depot Managers with debt collection and provide cover for the Purchase Ledger department when needed.
  • Reconcile daily bank statements and assist with month-end journal processing.
  • Support the reconciliation of work in progress and control accounts.
  • Help prepare monthly P&L reports and participate in monthly Depot accounts meetings.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Previous accounting/finance experience is essential, with a qualification or part-qualified in AAT or similar courses.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Committed team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • MUST HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE.
Additional Information:
  • Working Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Company Pension (5%/3%).
