As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the company vehicle allocated is maintained in a roadworthy and clean condition, documenting appropriate checks and reporting any faults immediately.
Key Responsibilities:- Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading assembled orders onto the vehicle ensuring that the payload is within the limits for the vehicle and that the permissible axle weights are not exceeded.
- Delivery Management: Ensure all scheduled deliveries are completed on time, in full on a daily basis, utilising the relevant route planning tools.
- Customer Service: Deliver to customers as directed and assist with unloading and taking to final delivery point as requested. Report any problems with delivery sites.
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure that all POD paperwork is correct and authorised, and all cash payments are collected and accounted for at the Branch.
You will need to present a professional image to the customer, be pleasant and courteous at all times and comply with company dress requirements.
About the RoleThis is a day shift position, 6am-4pm, Monday to Friday, working 45 hours per week. The salary for this role is £12.79 per hour.
We offer a range of benefits including paid holidays, weekly pay, PAYE, and 24-hour support from our VTA team.
Requirements:- Licence: Full valid driving licence required.
- Experience: Be competent at securing loads and have held your licence for at least 12 months due to insurance requirements.
