About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment and Skills Training Coordinator to join our team at Tower Hamlets Council Pension Fund.

Job Summary

The Supported Employment Team assists local individuals in accessing employment opportunities through placements and traineeships hosted at external organisations or temporary appointments within the council. We work with clients who require additional targeted support, such as care leavers, people with learning disabilities, women returning to the labour market, individuals aged 50 plus, and other groups who are furthest away from the labour market.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract until 15th December 2025.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Supporting the Lead Training Commissioner on all training required for the Employment and Skills team, ensuring adherence to internal and external policies and procedures. You will assist in commissioning training through the council's procurement system (Requisition for Quote) following regulated legislation, working closely with corporate Procurement and Finance.
  2. Developing and creating partnerships with schools, community organisations, colleges, external providers, and other local authorities to ensure they are set up on the council system, enabling them to use the RFQ. You will support the tendering of training contracts, ensuring procured providers meet quality standards, comply with contractual obligations, and are cost-efficient.
  3. The community training hub, developing effective relationships with ESOL and community training providers across the borough to maximise opportunities for residents. You will strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to understand client needs, supporting the Lead Training Commissioner in designing, commissioning, and managing training programmes. You will secure access to various training provisions, including non-commissioned services, ensuring they meet client needs and represent value for money.

What We Offer

Tower Hamlets Council Pension Fund offers a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, flexible working arrangements, generous annual leave, and a local government pension scheme. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. If this position is available to internal employees only, this includes agency workers but excludes independent contractors or WorkPath trainees.
