Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Older Adult Clinical Psychology Service in North Powys. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in the development and delivery of psychological interventions, including co-facilitating group programmes with multidisciplinary team colleagues. You will also work closely with the Memory Assessment Service to provide high-quality care to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong understanding of psychological principles and practices. You will be required to undertake clinical interviews with service users, carers, and relatives, and work across a range of physical environments. You will also be responsible for conducting initial assessments, administering standardized neuropsychological tests, and preparing reports of findings. Additionally, you will assist in the implementation, planning, and monitoring of systemic psychological interventions and communicate condition-related information to clients and relatives.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic background in Psychology, preferably with a postgraduate qualification. You will have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also have the ability to work reliably and consistently under supervision and be able to accept and use supervision effectively. Experience of administering standardized psychological assessments and working with individuals with complex mental health conditions is desirable.
