About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapy Specialist to join our dynamic out-patient Physiotherapy teams at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and innovative individual to expand their clinical portfolio and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of Consultants in clinic settings as required, and assist in achieving 18-week targets.
  • Lead in the training and development of clinical practice and service.
  • Manage, supervise, and appraise staff and students within the specialist area.

Person Specification
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE English and maths grade C or above.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including recent postgraduate training relevant to the clinical specialty.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Evidence of leadership training.
  • Significant experience in MSK within various settings of the MSK field.
  • Implementation of change management principles.
  • Demonstration of specialist knowledge across a range of Physiotherapy procedures, practices, and treatments.
  • Attendance at postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical work.
  • Attendance at mandatory training.
  • Evidence of in-service training.
  • Experience of producing reports/data analysis.
  • Pilates training/qualification.
  • An ability to contribute to the clinical education of less experienced staff, students, and assistants.
  • Highly developed physical skills, including dexterity, coordination, and sensory skills for assessment and manual physiotherapy treatment of patients.
  • An ability to supervise and delegate work to junior physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
  • An ability to propose changes in policies/procedures that may improve the service.
  • Good working knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the client group and their implications for Physiotherapy.
  • Understanding of the impact of local cultural and demographic factors influencing service.
  • Proactive, innovative, creative, enthusiastic.
  • Flexible.
  • Car driver, able to meet the travel requirements of the position.
  • Flexible to work between sites.
