Job Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit in London.

About the Role:

As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and rehabilitation services to individuals with complex neurological conditions. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans, and provide support and guidance to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deputise for the Lead Occupational Therapist when required and provide leadership and guidance to the team.
  2. Assist the multidisciplinary team in diagnosis, problem formulation, and planning of rehabilitation programmes.
  3. Function as a Key Worker/Named Therapist to ensure active coordination and management of the therapeutic programme to achieve agreed rehabilitation goals.
  4. Play a key role in planning safe discharges and providing equipment for patients during their rehabilitation journey.
  5. Maintain accurate records and clinical notes in line with company policy and RCOT guidelines.
  6. Develop and deliver in-service education and training programmes for the wider multidisciplinary team.
  7. Supervise junior members of staff, including Band 6 therapists, assistants, and students.
