We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically credible senior neonates nurse to join our team as a Band 8B Matron for children's services. The successful candidate will work closely with the Matrons for General Paediatrics, Paediatrics Emergency and Labour Ward to deliver the highest standards of care across the service.
The Matron role is a senior nursing position providing leadership and direction to nursing staff within a designated service line across Queen's and King George Hospitals, and other satellite sites. The post holder will work in a service line triumvirate with the Clinical Lead and the Service Manager, with a particular focus on day-to-day management of nursing services across their areas of responsibility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring provision of high quality, safe, well-governed, productive and cost-effective services which support the Trust in delivering its strategic objectives. They will work closely alongside the Maternity and Paediatrics Departments at BHRUT as well as within the NEL network.
The team is led by our Director of Nursing for Babies, Children and Young people, a Trust wide role to ensure children and young people receive high quality care wherever they access services across our organisation. The post holder will also be supported by the Head of Nursing for the Children's Directorate, Children's Clinical Site Practitioner Team, Complex Discharge Co-ordinator, and education team together with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within a designated service line
- Work closely with the Clinical Lead and the Service Manager to manage nursing services
- Ensure provision of high quality, safe, well-governed, productive and cost-effective services
- Work closely alongside the Maternity and Paediatrics Departments at BHRUT and within the NEL network
Requirements:
- Highly motivated and clinically credible senior neonates nurse
- Proven record at band 7/8 level of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams
- Ability to work in a service line triumvirate with the Clinical Lead and the Service Manager
- Strong leadership and management skills
