Statistical Analyst Job Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Statistical Analyst to join our team at the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College London. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the development of novel statistical inference tools using Bayesian Statistics and AI.

The salary range for this position is £43,093-£50,834 per annum, and we offer a fixed-term contract for 12 months with potential extension. We anticipate the start date to be around October 2023.

The primary responsibilities of this role include working on methodological research to tackle pressing global health problems. You will develop and apply novel statistical inference tools in three domains:

  1. HIV deep-sequence phylogenetics within the PANGEA-HIV consortium
  2. Quantification and hotspot mapping of caregiver loss with the Global Reference Group for Children Affected by COVID-19 and in Crises
  3. Species mapping and forecasting using oceanographic and climatological datasets

You will work closely with a team of leading researchers and receive hands-on training in machine learning and modern statistics, epidemiological, and phylogenetic techniques.

As a member of our team, you will be based in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London and will work with the Machine Learning & Global Health Network (MLGH).
