About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join our dynamic Mental Health In Reach Team within a prison setting. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges within a challenging environment.

Our Approach

Our team provides comprehensive, integrated care for prisoners with both minor and major mental health needs. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach, ensuring that each individual receives tailored support based on their unique circumstances. Our focus is on minimizing distress and disability caused by mental illness while empowering individuals to regain control over their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care and assessment to prisoners with diverse mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as a positive role model for staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in an emergency response system across the prison, ensuring prompt and effective intervention during crisis situations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual with:

  • A strong clinical background in mental health nursing within a prison or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
