Financial Crime Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Analytics & Systems Specialist to join our team at NatWest. As a key member of our financial crime prevention team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective strategies to prevent and detect financial crime.
Key Responsibilities- You will be responsible for formulating and deploying prevention and detection strategies in response to specific threats as they arise, such as new system enhancements and process changes.
- You will maintain a detailed understanding of applicable downstream operational processes, assess the impact of planned system changes on operational processes, and proactively seek feedback from operations and use this to enhance systems.
- You will support business-as-usual enhancements and major upgrades through business analysis, documenting requirements and undertaking user acceptance testing, working in an agile fashion and liaising with engineering teams as required.
- You will liaise with system vendors and coordinate our work with them to drive enhancements and resolve issues.
- You will need an understanding of UK retail and small businesses, and UK financial crime legislation.
- You will also need an understanding of the financial crime threats facing a retail bank.
- You will have a general understanding of the approach taken to financial crime by traditional banks, including knowledge of key policies, teams, processes, controls, systems and data.
- You will have very strong quantitative skills with knowledge and experience in relevant analytical approaches, with the ability to combine data analysis and subject matter knowledge to produce genuine insight.
- You will have very strong verbal and written communications skills, communicating in the most appropriate way for the audience and purpose at hand, and able to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- You will have a good understanding of Agile values, principles and methodologies with experience of working within an Agile environment, particularly explaining business requirements to technical teams and creating books of work with them.
- You will have experience of using data and technology to test approaches and deliver scalable products, ideally ones which detect and manage financial crime risk.
- Experience of Entity Resolution using Quantexa is desirable for this role.
The salary for this role is estimated to be between £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme, life insurance, and 25 days' annual leave.
