Our client, a leading waste management company, is seeking an experienced Chemistry Professional to join their team as a laboratory scientist in Greater Manchester. This is a hands-on role involving the analysis and testing of incoming waste materials, ensuring correct labelling and documentation, and contributing to site health and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with a minimum HNC qualification, and experience working in a laboratory setting. They will be willing to work outside in all weathers and have a good work ethic, with a hands-on approach and a willingness to learn.

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of £28,000, plus benefits including an annual bonus, pension, healthcare cash plan, training and development opportunities, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. The working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times.

The role involves providing technical support to the operations team, analysing and testing all incoming waste, ensuring correct labelling and documentation, contributing to site health and safety standards, working closely with site operatives to ensure safe and efficient processing, storage, and transfer of waste, and day-to-day lab testing on waste materials using ICP and XRF.
