**Job overview**:
Applications are invited from highly motivated graduates to join the Biochemistry team at PAWS as a Trainee Biomedical Scientist. Applicants will work through a training program and complete the IBMS registration porfolio.

We process in excess of 1,000,000 requests per annum and are on the cutting edge of technology. You will have the opportunity to train and develop your skills in this large department, which includes an automated section with analysers connected to a track system for sample management. Regional services are also provided in our Specialist, Mass Spectrometry and Immunology sections. Alongside the facilities at Salford there is a well-equipped Essential Service Laboratories at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary at Wigan.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will undertake BMS training in the diagnostic, scientific & technical work of the department in order to complete a registration portfolio leading to HCPC registration. Once qualified participation in the out of hours service is mandatory.

The role will involve cross site working in accordance with Trust and departmental SOPS and Policies to ensure the delivery of a safe, patient focused and high quality service.
