We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Registered General Nurse to lead our established stoma care nursing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist nursing care in both primary and secondary care settings.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 or equivalent and possess broad knowledge, skills, and experience in surgical nursing. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage a caseload of patients in both secondary and primary care settings.
The successful candidate will be able to work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team and have a specific interest in professional development and service improvement.
Main Duties- Lead and coordinate the delivery and development of the stoma care specialist nurse service through the use of effective evidence-based practice in line with agreed national standards for patient safety and clinical practice.
- Provide clinical leadership, expertise, and specialist clinical advice and support to clinical staff on the management and care of patients within the stoma care service.
- Provide the highest standard of holistic care for patients through the utilisation of advanced clinical skills and advice in the assessment and management of patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Lead on the delivery and development of the stoma care nursing service through the use of effective evidence-based practice in line with agreed national standards for clinical practice.
