Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Support Assistant to join our team at Kirklees Council. As an Educational Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs in our schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the SENDCO and class teachers to plan and deliver activities that meet the needs of children with varying levels of need.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with additional needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
  • Implement Behaviour Plans, IEPs, MSPs, and EHCPs, contributing to plan reviews and evaluations.
  • Assist with personal and intimate care for small numbers of children.

Requirements

  • Understanding of how children learn and commitment to inclusive practices.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs and understanding of the rewards, demands, and challenges of this role.
  • Warm approach and nurturing manner, with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing needs of the school.
