Job Overview

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support in a Catholic school in Rochdale. The school is graded Outstanding by Ofsted and is looking for a Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils
  • Support pupils with a wide range of needs in the classroom
  • Keep pupils motivated to stay on task with preset exercises
  • Provide materials and tools for students
  • Guide pupils through tasks and exercises
  • Work across different curriculum areas, including various subject areas
  • Report back to the teacher for covered work
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a secondary school
  • Previous experience working with pupils of similar ages
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2/3 in education or support in schools, a degree, or a master's degree
Desired Skills
  • A degree or equivalent education
  • A willingness to learn
  • A natural leader and confidence to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher
  • A passion for education and providing high-quality support to young people
