About the Role

The Centaur Media Plc is seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Legal Advisor to join its in-house legal team on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level lawyer to gain broad legal experience and make a significant impact within a fast-paced and collaborative media business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Commercial Advice: Offer focused and commercial advice on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiations, intellectual property, and data protection.
  • Contract Management: Review, draft, and manage commercial contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and other third parties.
  • Policy Development: Work with the Legal Team to develop and roll out new template agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Training and Development: Deliver training and develop know-how relating to internal contract management processes, intellectual property, and data protection compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the business in understanding and complying with its legal and regulatory requirements, including anti-bribery and corruption, data protection, and climate change.
  • Acquisitions and Disposals: Support the Legal Team on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, or outsourcing transactions.
  • Intellectual Property: Advise on intellectual property matters and help maintain Centaur's trademark portfolio, supported by external advisors.
  • External Counsel Management: Help manage instructions to external counsel and other legal services providers.
Requirements
  • Strong Academic Education: A strong academic education and qualifications are essential.
  • Commercial Law Expertise: Commercial law expertise and, ideally, expertise in corporate, data protection, intellectual property, technology, and/or employment law.
  • Post-Qualification Experience: Ideally, completed training and post-qualification experience at a leading law firm.
