Job Summary

Activus Recruitment is seeking an experienced LGV Fleet Mechanic to join our client's expanding team in Cove, Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform safe and efficient servicing, fault diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of LGVs and other fleet vehicles and equipment within workshops and off-site environments.
  2. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out under the cover of risk/COSHH assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  3. Tool and Equipment Management: Verify that all tools and equipment used for repairs and maintenance are checked, fit for purpose, and certified where necessary.
  4. Plant and Equipment Inspection: Conduct daily checks on plant and equipment, such as forklifts, MEWPs, lifting ramps, and lifting accessories, and complete the relevant check sheets.
  5. Reporting and Communication: Report any plant and equipment defects to the Site Manager/Fleet Manager and ensure the correct PPE is utilized at all times.
  6. Site Induction and Safety Awareness: Receive a site-specific induction and be fully aware of the safety rules for each site when working off-site, particularly in quarry environments.
  7. Workshop and Site Maintenance: Ensure workshops, stores, and off-site environments are kept in a tidy state at all times, with all wastes disposed of correctly.
  8. Documentation and Administration: Complete job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and other department-related documentation accurately and on time.
  9. Health and Safety Policy Compliance: Adhere to safe systems of work as laid down by the Health and Safety Policy, IMS, and Safety at Work Legislation.
  10. Training and Development: Attend meetings and training courses as directed by the Site Manager/Fleet Manager and provide training and guidance to other members of staff as required.
  11. Company Representation: Act as an ambassador for the company, ensuring visitors, customers, and staff are communicated with in a polite and courteous manner.

Note: The main tasks listed above are not exhaustive.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive rate of £14.50 circa.
