Activus Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our client's expanding team in Cove, Aberdeen.

Job Purpose

As a key member of our client's team, you will be responsible for carrying out the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of HGV and LGV vehicles within workshops and off-site environments.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Carry out thorough servicing, fault diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of HGV, LGV vehicles, trailers, and powder tankers within workshops and off-site environments.
  2. Ensure all works are carried out under the cover of risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  3. Verify that all tools and equipment used for repairs and maintenance are checked, fit for purpose, and certified where necessary.
  4. Conduct daily checks on plant and equipment, such as forklifts, MEWPs, lifting ramps, and lifting accessories, and complete the relevant check sheets.
  5. Report any plant and equipment defects to the Site Manager or Fleet Manager.
  6. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times for any given task.
  7. When working off-site, particularly in quarry environments, ensure you receive a site-specific induction and are fully aware of the safety rules for that site.
  8. Maintain a tidy state in workshops, stores, and off-site environments, disposing of waste correctly.
  9. Complete job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and other department-related documentation accurately and on time.
  10. Adhere to safe systems of work as outlined in the Health and Safety Policy, IMS, and Safety at Work Legislation.
  11. Attend meetings and training courses as directed by the Site Manager or Fleet Manager.
  12. Provide training and guidance to other team members as required.
  13. Represent the company in a professional manner, ensuring visitors, customers, and staff are communicated with in a polite and courteous manner.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of circa £18 per hour.
