Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Cardiology Department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of nurses in providing patient care and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient flow.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Provide education and training to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
- Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
- Substantial post-registration experience working in a complex healthcare setting or acute NHS care setting, supervising or mentoring junior staff.
- Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in the area, supplemented by specialist clinical and/or managerial training and CPD.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding/experience/willingness to be a practice-based supervisor/assessor, as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment.
- Professional portfolio that demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration.
- Relevant and recent clinical experience within the specialty/acute care setting, including the supervision/education of junior staff.
- Experience of mentoring undergraduate students.
- Ability to lead/coordinate a shift/area of department.
- Experience in learning from incidents/complaints and supporting changes in practice.
